Resources for Recruiting Dental Team Members

In mid-June, your Texas Dental Association sent an email addressing staffing shortages and sharing links to twenty-plus hygiene programs in an attempt to tackle the immediate workforce difficulties many practices were facing.

Knowing that the recruitment of dental team members requires both a short-term plan and a long-term strategy, linked in this email you will find below two customizable, recruitment flyers created by the American Dental Association, which aim to bring awareness and interest to those who may not have thought of dentistry as a profession.

These flyers feature:
  • Dental assistants, dental hygienists, dental office managers, and dental laboratory technicians
  • Dental assistants and dental hygienists

We encourage you to use these flyers in your own offices, at high school and middle school career days, or even for distribution at job fairs or community events. Visit ADA resources on choosing a career in the dental professions for additional resources.

Lastly, we are keenly aware that many challenges—reduced patient flows, decreasing reimbursements, supply chain scarcities and staffing shortages—are often intertwined with one another and will take time to solve. In addition, we know that different members face different problems and have different needs: employee dentist or owner, group practice or solo practitioner, and rural or urban, just to name a few. Rest assured that we will continue to work hard to provide some relief—whether big or small—to serve each of you.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact us as we welcome any suggestions or ideas you wish to share.
